PSAT Scores Released Collegeboard

Scores from the October, 2018 Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) were released by the College Board the week of December 10th.  Guidance counselors met with students who took the test and explained how to access scores online, how to interpret test results, and recommended next steps.  Please check with your student for their login and password and ask them to share their results with you, as the College Board only provides online score reports for students and their families.  If you have any questions, please contact your student’s guidance counselor at 665-2673 or email them.    



7th Grade Graham Cracker House and Cookie Community Service Activity cookies

We would like to thank the 7th grade students and their families for their overwhelming support of our graham cracker house and cookie community service activity. Students created nearly 100 graham cracker houses and dozens of cookies. These donations were delivered to the Franklin County Community Meals Program which serves thousands of meals each year to families in Greenfield, Turners Falls and Orange. Andrea Leibson, Executive Director, was extremely appreciative of our school's effort. Happy holidays!

**NOW MONDAY NOVEMBER 19th** Join us online or in person at our 10th Annual Music telethon. The Frontier Regional Music Telethon is an annual live music event put on by Frontier Regional School to raise money for the Music Department to be used for various needs which arise throughout the year. You may watch the telethon on FCAT channel 12 in the 4 towns or on ONLINE (youTube) on the Frontier Regional School Website main page. Tune in. It will be a lot of fun. Pink Cruiser Comes to Frontier! pink cruiser

Pink Cruiser is coming to Frontier tomorrow! 
The objective of the MSP pink cruiser is to show support and raise awareness of those battling breast cancer. This is done as part of the P​ink Patch Project​ which the MSP are participating in for their second year. October was ​Breast Cancer Awareness Month​ and scheduled appearances of the pink cruiser have been extended into November due to its popularity! Officer Fitch plans to visit FRS and will have patches and decals available for purchase​ ​(please see below for more details).​ Y​ou may also choose to ​wear pink to school on 11/7 ​to show your support and for group photos with the cruiser.

College Financial Aid Seminar Recording college planning

Parents and students were invited to attend a free seminar on paying for college to be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Frontier Regional High School Auditorium. This seminar was offered through MEFA, the Commonwealth’s authority on planning, saving, and paying for college.An experienced MEFA representative provided an overview of the college financing options for your family. Chromebook Insurance chromebook

"Students grades 7-12 are provided a chromebook device at no cost to families.  Students are responsible for all damages to their chromebooks unless it is determined there is a manufacturer defect.  To lessen the burden of repair costs, Frontier Regional School District has chosen Worth Ave. Group to provide families an insurance option which will protect the device against ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, THEFT, FIRE, FLOOD, NATURAL DISASTERS, POWER SURGE and VANDALISM.

The enrollment and payment must be completed online via the link

The enrollment deadline for insurance is September 30, 2018.

Frontier Music Department is happy to announce this year's Telethon logo/poster contest. This year the Telethon is in the fall. So the deadline for this contest is October 12th. The usage is for t-shirt, social media and poster displays. Two winners will be chosen.  For this contest you may choose to make either a LOGO or a Poster.

New District Pediculosis Procedures

At the end of last school year, FRSU#38 School Committees voted to eliminate the Pediculosis (head lice) policy and adopted revised procedures for managing head lice in the five schools in our district. (See attached).

Breakfast Now Being Served at FRS new menu

This school year we will be serving breakfast. The time frame will be from 7:15-8:00 AM. The price is $2.50. this price includes milk. We now offer a choice of fruit & milk with breakfast & lunch. Daily Breakfast offerings are hot oatmeal, cold cereals, bagels, muffins, fruit, juice, & milk. Daily lunch offerings are fresh salad, sandwiches, homemade soup of the day, weekly pizza specials.

Fall Athletic Opening Dates and Times football

Frontier Regional Athletics announces the following opening dates and times for their 2018 fall sports season.

All potential players must register on Family ID( and have a medical exam, within thirteen months of the first practice date, on record with Frontier to be eligible to participate.  Please be aware that student athletes will become ineligible to participate on the exact day thirteen months from their last physical exam date.

Summer Reading Announced! SummerReading2018

Summer Reading assignments have been released. There is a required book title for each grade (read more below). Every student is expected to read the book assigned to their grade and choose ONE assignment to complete by September 7th, 2018. High school students will submit their completed assignments in the LMC and Middle School students will submit them to their English teachers.

All students need to choose and complete and submit one assignment by September 7th.
High school students- submit completed assignments to the library media center.
Middle school students- submit completed assignments to your English teacher.

Seniors - Chromebook Collection Happening Now Chrome

Seniors are encouraged to return their Chromebook and charger once they confirm with all teachers that the device is longer required.  The deadline for returning Chromebooks and chargers is the last day of finals, May 25, 2018.   Chromebooks and chargers are to be returned to the OIT Department (room A220).

FRS Hydration Station Hydration Station

Frontier Regional Environmental Club is raising money to get a Hydration Station installed in the middle school wing. This will promote kids using reusable water bottles- a major environmental action which relates to plastic use issues, economic issues, and water conservation issues. Supporting us will help  ensure students will have easier access to clean drinking water, will be able use and fill up their water bottles more easily, and will help them to stay hydrated throughout their school day.    Please help support our environmental club of 22 students to reach their goal and leave a lasting mark on the MS wing.  We thank you for trying to help us reach our goal!

Athletic Fields Pre Emergent Weed Control grass

The scheduled date for the annual chemical application on Frontier athletic fields is Friday morning April 20th. The fields can not be scheduled/used on that date or for the next 72 hours. That will be the following Monday afternoon (April 23rd).

The Boston Red Sox Rally for the Jimmy Fund sox

The Frontier Baseball and Softball teams are sponsoring The Boston Red Sox Rally for the Jimmy Fund. They are trying to get as many people as possible to donate a minimum of $10 and on Thursday April 5th, for the Red Sox Home Opener everyone is to wear their Red Sox gear to school that day to promote the fund raiser and of course show their Red Sox pride. Help Us Help Mauriceville Middle School Orange, Texas Texas

Mauriceville Middle School (320 students in grades 6-8) in Orange Texas received extensive damage due to Hurricane Harvey. 

The 7th & 8th grade classes have organized a supply drive that will continue until Friday, October 6, 2017.  Items can be dropped off at either the main entrance, middle school entrance or Mrs. Wozny’s classroom (D201).  The current list of needed supplies are listed below:

2017-2018 Substitute Orientation Night

Important DatePlease join us for the 2017-18 Substitute Orientation Night on Monday, August 28th at 6:00 PM at the Library Media Center at Frontier Regional High School. Anyone interested in substituting in our district is encouraged to attend. We are seeking subs for classrooms, Main Office staff and Registered Nurses for our Health Offices. Principals will be on-site for the interview process. Please bring your resume, if you have one, along with your driver's license and 1 form of government identification (i.e, passport, birth certificate, social security card). March 30th is the Frontier Regional School Annual Music Telethon. The Frontier Regional Music Telethon is an annual live music event put on by Frontier Regional School’s Arts Department. The evening of the event will feature a mix of amateur and professional entertainers. The overall goal of this telethon is to raise money for the Music Department to be used for various needs which arise throughout the year. One method of funding is from callers who will call in the evening of the performance and make a pledge. Calls should be made to the school at 413.665.2118 the evening of our telethon. You may watch the telethon on FCAT channel 12 in the 4 towns or on ONLINE on the Frontier Regional School Website main page. Tune in. It will be a lot of fun.
