Report Cards Get A New Look... Check Out The Family Guide!

December, 2017

Dear Families:

On Friday, December 8th students will receive a report card showing their progress in district learning standards. Our teachers have worked over the last two years revising our district report cards to reflect our most up to date curriculum standards, teaching practices and assessment strategies. A Family Guide (click here for a sneek peek to report card) to the report card is designed to help you understand the new grading system and to share the many ways that teachers assess student progress in the district learning standards.  Several embedded links connect to the benchmarks, rubrics and assessments that our teachers use to assess student achievement.

We hope that you find this information useful. I welcome you to contact me with your comments and questions about this new format.

Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers Needed

Dear SES parents/guardians,

The PTO at SES raises money throughout the year in order to provide the school with funding for field trips, school presentations, improvements to playgrounds, and much more, and we also help organize fun events like Walk/Roll to School and the Spring Carnival. We have many dedicated parents helping out, but there is a lot to do and so we could always use more volunteers. Your help can be as simple as dropping off a baked item for an event or working a shift for an hour or two. There are lots of opportunities that can fit your schedule, and it's a great way to get involved in your child's school and meet other SES parents!

If you would like us to contact you when volunteer opportunities arise, please email sunderlandpto@gmail.com.
Thanks,

Sincerely,
The SES PTO
