Frontier Regional CFCE Playgroup Begins!

Put this on your calendarCome join the Playgroup for a morning of informal play, interactive literacy activities and conversation with other families and caregivers! We meet Mondays and Fridays 9:30-11:30 at Sunderland Elementary School. Please see our Flyer for more information

New District Pediculosis Procedures

At the end of last school year, FRSU#38 School Committees voted to eliminate the Pediculosis (head lice) policy and adopted revised procedures for managing head lice in the five schools in our district. (See attached).

NEW to Strings or Band?

music notesJoin us for Union #38 Instrumental Music Information and Rental Night, Thursday, September 13th at 6:30pm at the Deerfield Elementary Cafeteria

Mrs. Sherrill (strings) and Mrs. Carr (band) will begin the evening with a brief presentation about the program. Afterwards families will have an opportunity to rent an instrument from our vendors. We will be available to answer questions the entire evening.

Frontier Earns Silver in US NEWS Best HS Ranking USNews silver medal

Frontier Regional is ranked 54th within Massachusetts. Frontier Regional is ranked #1070 in the National Rankings and earned a silvermedal. Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required tests and how well they prepare students for college.

Frontier Regional CFCE Summer Schedule

Heart and Children clip artFrontier Regional CFCE will be sponsoring a series of music events taking place at the Sunderland Library. They will also be sponsoring a playgroup this summer at the Sunderland Elementary School. Both of these events are for children ages 0-8 years of age. 2018-2019 Substitute Orientation Night

Important AnnouncementPlease join us for the 2018-19 Substitute Orientation Night on Monday, August 27th at 6:00 PM at the Library Media Center at Frontier Regional High School. Anyone interested in substituting in our district is encouraged to attend. We are seeking subs for classrooms, Main Office staff and Registered Nurses for our Health Offices. Principals will be on-site for the interview process. Please bring your resume, if you have one, along with your driver's license and 1 form of government identification (i.e, passport, birth certificate, social security card). If you are unable to attend, please contact Rhonda at the Superintendent's Office - 413-665-1155.

music notesElementary students who have participated in band or strings for at least one year are welcome to attend. The camp will be held at Deerfield Elementary, in conjunction with River Valley Day Camp. *Your student does not have to participate in River Valley Day Camp in order to attend Summer Music Camp.

First Day of School!

First Day of SchoolMark your calendars! The first day of school for students K-12 for the 2018-2019 school year will be Thursday, August 30, 2018. The first day for pre-school for the district will be Tuesday, September 4th. Whately Elementary Kindergarten will also start Tuesday, September 4th, not August 30th.

Athletic Fields Pre Emergent Weed Control grass

The scheduled date for the annual chemical application on Frontier athletic fields is Friday morning April 20th. The fields can not be scheduled/used on that date or for the next 72 hours. That will be the following Monday afternoon (April 23rd).

Thursday the 29th is TheĀ 9th Annual Music Telethon & Cabaret telethonlogo

This Thursday, 29th 6pm to 9pm is our 9th Annual Music Telethon. The Frontier Regional Music Telethon is an annual LIVE STREAMING music event put on by Frontier Regional School’s Arts Department on YouTube. The evening of the event will feature our Cabaret. The overall goal of this telethon is to raise money for the Music Department to be used for various needs which arise throughout the year.

Frontier School Committee Meeting Rescheduled

Date changeDue to today's inclement weather, the Frontier School Committee meeting scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled to Tuesday, December 19th at 6 pm. 

KIndergarten Registration

Important dateKindergarten Registration for the 2018-2019 school year will take place starting January 8th - January 26th. Registration packets will be available at your elementary school during this time. Children must be 5 on or before September 1, 2018. A copy of your child's birth certificate is required to pick up a packet.

Report Cards Get A New Look... Check Out The Family Guide!

Dear Families:

On Friday, December 8th students will receive a report card showing their progress in district learning standards. Our teachers have worked over the last two years revising our district report cards to reflect our most up to date curriculum standards, teaching practices and assessment strategies. A Family Guide (click here for a sneek peek to report card) to the report card is designed to help you understand the new grading system and to share the many ways that teachers assess student progress in the district learning standards.  Several embedded links connect to the benchmarks, rubrics and assessments that our teachers use to assess student achievement.
