New District Pediculosis Procedures

Management of a pest or medical condition is best accomplished using evidence based practices and protocols as opposed to policies.

The new Pediculosis procedures were developed based on documents from the Harvard School of Public Health, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Association of School Nurses and the Centers for Disease Control.

The goal of the new procedures are to work within the school community to effectively manage any instance of head lice.

Attached are 2 informational sheets, a fact sheet from the MDPH and a Head Lice 101 Lesson. Please let me or the school nurse in your building know if you have any questions about the new procedures.
